Before the general assembly of Kayseri Bar Association to be held in October, lawyer Özden Ertan announced her candidacy and became the first and only female bar association president candidate in the 100-year history of the bar association. Stating that he became a candidate as a result of common sense with his colleagues, Ertan said, "We agreed that a female presidential candidate should be in the elections this term. We think that having women in different positions in the bar association will make a difference. This is very important for us."
