Consul General of Greece in Istanbul, Konstantinos Koutras, said that the intense tourism activity between Turks and Greeks shows how close the two peoples are to each other. Stating that approximately 25 thousand Turkish citizens live in Greece, Koutras stated that there are no problems with the visa processes. He noted that the consulate in Istanbul issues approximately 1,600 visas per day, and that this number is aimed to increase to 2,000 in July. Emphasizing that approximately 70 percent of the visas issued are long-term and multiple-entry, Koutras said that travelers are the strongest representatives of the friendship between the two countries.
