Kazakhstan will introduce a partial ban on the import of wheat into its territory for a period of six months after the approval of the corresponding order by government agencies, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic told Interfax-Kazakhstan. "At a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on foreign trade policy and participation in international economic organizations on June 5, 2026, a decision was made to introduce a temporary ban on the import of wheat into the territory of Kazakhstan, with the exception of import by rail to licensed elevators, poultry farming and flour milling enterprises, for a period of six months,” the Ministry of Agriculture said in its response to the agency’s request about the timing of introducing such a ban.
