According to the Central Bank's May data, housing prices increased by 1.7 percent monthly and 24.5 percent annually. However, when adjusted for inflation, there was a real loss of 6.1 percent in house prices on an annual basis. While rents increased by 1.9 percent monthly and 30.4 percent annually, the increase remained behind inflation. The highest annual increase in housing prices was seen in Ankara with 29.9 percent. Experts state that activity in the real estate market may increase during the summer months.
