Family goes to the wife of a man who died in an accident to warn her and finds her throat cut
The Civil Police are investigating whether the couple who died on the same day, in adverse situations, in Itapetininga (SP), were about to formalize the divorce process. The 25-year-old woman was found with her throat cut in the house where she lived, while her 35-year-old husband died in a traffic accident. The case is being investigated as a femicide followed by suicide.
The body of Sara Letícia Antunes Oliveira Rodrigues was found by her sister with signs of stab wounds. The relative went to Sara's house to inform her about the accident after the family was informed that her husband, Diego da Silva Rodrigues, had died in a collision with a trailer on Rodovia Raposo Tavares (SP-270), on Tuesday morning.
According to delegate Luiz Henrique Nunes, from the General Investigations Station (DIG) of Itapetininga, the police found, at the family's residence in Vila Asém, documents indicating that the couple was in the process of separating and intended to formalize the divorce.
"There is this news that they were going to sign the divorce. So much so that in a separate bag of hers were the marriage certificate, the son's certificate, documents apparently reserved to be taken to this divorce. One of the possibilities that guides us is that he did not accept the end of the relationship and ended up committing this crime against his ex-wife", points out the delegate.
