Early on the morning of the 17th, a man in his 60s living in a house in Shimokitayama Village, Nara Prefecture was attacked by a bear and taken to the hospital with injuries to his head and face. The village is appealing to residents to be careful as the bear has disappeared from the scene and has not been found.
