The caretta caretta, which is under threat of extinction on Antalya's Belek Beach, was seen laying eggs on the beach and returning to the sea. Cansu Ulusoy, project manager of the Ecological Research Association, said, "We have detected a total of 1220 nesting sites, 620 in the Belek region and 600 in the Kızılot region, we are still at the very beginning of the season. Last year, we had a record of 3,650 nests, we expect higher nesting this year with the measures taken and increased public awareness." he said.
