The death of Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, aged 21, mobilized colleagues and the Panobianco Silverstone academy, in Jandira, Greater São Paulo, where the young woman worked. Since Saturday (13), the company has been publishing tributes and messages of solidarity.
Maria Eduarda died after being thrown from a height of around 40 meters without ropes during a rope jump, on Saturday morning (13), in Limeira, in the interior of São Paulo. Her body was buried this Sunday (14) in Jandira. (see below).
On Saturday itself, the academy published a note of condolence lamenting the employee's death.
"Maria Eduarda was more than a collaborator, she was an example of dedication, commitment, joy and respect. Her presence left positive marks on everyone around her and her absence will be forever missed", stated the company.
On Sunday (14), the unit announced that it would remain closed. "The pain of loss is deep, but the love and memories remain forever. We appreciate everyone's understanding and affection," says the statement.
This Monday (15), the academy announced in a video that it had canceled the unit's two-year anniversary celebration. The draws planned for students, however, will be maintained.
"Today, we come together in respect, longing and gratitude for the story that Duda built with us", says the publication's caption.

According to the Military Police, a witness reported that the employees of the responsible company forgot to put on their equipment before the jump.
In a video posted on social media, it is possible to see the moment employees carry the victim to the platform. They throw it and, moments later, it is possible to hear voices of despair, shouting: "the rope", "people, the rope".
🔎 Rope jumping is a sport that uses static ropes, without elasticity, and after the fall, it makes a swinging movement, like a pendulum. In bungee jumping, the best known modality, the elastic rope makes the person fall and bounce up and down repeatedly.

The young woman fell from a height of 40 meters and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Samu and Fire Department teams. According to the Civil Police, the thick equipment that should have been attached to the victim's body to arrest the fall was forgotten and remained rolled up on the floor of the jump structure.
A witness, who would jump right after the young woman, reported that the instructors did not carry out a safety check when Maria Eduarda was there.
Their people were arrested and three men were charged with homicide with possible intent, when the risk of killing is assumed: Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, 32 years old; Vitor de Freitas Gonçalves, 27 years old; and Maicon Fernandes Cintra, 42 years old.
Maria Eduarda's mother spoke out on social media on Sunday (14).
"My beloved daughter, just today I wanted to hug you more than a thousand times. How your departure hurts me. I love you eternally, my princess. And thank you very much for being part of my life during these 21 years. What an honor it was to hear you call me mother. Thank you God for this privilege", wrote Valdenia Maria Rodrigues.

Federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL) filed this Monday (15) a request to the Federal Police's Directorate for Combating Cybercrime to initiate a criminal investigation against users of the social network X (formerly Twitter) for publications related to the death of Maria Eduarda.
The parliamentarian recalls the case and mentions that the young woman died after being thrown into a rope jumping activity on the so-called "Ponte do Esqueleto", in Limeira, in the interior of São Paulo. Witnesses reported that those responsible for the activity had forgotten to connect the safety rope before the jump, a circumstance that is being investigated by the competent authorities.

The document presents a list of profiles and publications that, according to the deputy, should be subject to investigation. She maintains that the conduct may fall within the crime provided for in article 287 of the Penal Code, as it allegedly encourages, exalts, naturalizes and disseminates sexual violence.
The parliamentarian also requests the investigation of the crime provided for in article 212 of the Penal Code, referring to the vilification of a corpse.
According to the document, the demonstrations contained explicit references to the practice of violent sexual acts against the victim's body and would represent an outrage to the young woman's memory and dignity. Among the phrases posted are: "party at IML", "I'm going to take part in the IML competition", and "the earth will eat before many people".

In the letter, Erika Hilton also states that the publications contribute to the trivialization of sexual violence and the dissemination of misogynistic speeches on social networks.
In the end, the deputy requests the initiation of an investigative procedure to investigate the possible commission of crimes provided for in articles 212 and 287 of the Penal Code, in addition to carrying out steps to identify those responsible for the aforementioned profiles, including the request for registration data and connection records possibly maintained by platform X or third parties.
The parliamentarian also requests that, if materiality and sufficient evidence of authorship are found, appropriate measures be taken to hold those involved criminally responsible.
