Test of Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile successful: India's deep strike capability increased; Can change course, will destroy targets 1000km away
⚡ Quick Summary
India has successfully tested the indigenous Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM), further strengthening its long-range precision strike capability.
India has successfully tested the indigenous Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM), further strengthening its long-range precision strike capability. According to the Defense Ministry, the test was conducted from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha, in which the missile successfully achieved all its missions. LRLACM is a cruise missile, which is designed to accurately attack distant targets on the ground. That means it can attack even enemy positions 1000 km away. LRLACM is a missile developed completely with indigenous technology. All its major sub-systems have been developed by DRDO labs and Indian industry partners. Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) in Bengaluru is the nodal lab for this project. What is a cruise missile? Cruise missile runs on jet engine. Flies at low altitude and can change course. It has the ability to avoid radar. Also it can attack its target accurately. According to defense experts, this missile will give new strength to India's strategic firepower. During the test, along with senior scientists of DRDO, representatives of Indian Navy and Indian Air Force were also present. Understand deep strike like this: Deep strike means the ability to carry out precise attacks from a distance on military targets located deep inside the enemy's territory such as airbases, missile launch sites, radar stations, military headquarters, command-control centers. Suppose if a missile is launched from the Indian border and accurately targets an airbase located 800 km away in enemy territory, then it will be called deep strike capability. ---------------------------- Also read this news... Test of Multi-Layered Ballistic Defense System successful: India is the 5th country to acquire this technology to shoot down a missile coming from 5000km away. India can now counter the threats of long-range ballistic missiles, even intercontinental ballistic missiles. DRDO conducted three consecutive flight tests on June 10 and 11, demonstrating the multi-layered Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) system. Read the full news…
