In a statement, MRS Logística, which manages the railway network, reported that the victim's companion said that she warned him about the approaching train, but he did not heed the warning.

The company also stated that the driver tried to activate the emergency brakes when he saw the victim close to the tracks, but it was not possible to avoid the accident.
Samu was called, but the doctor confirmed the death at the scene.

MRS Logística regretted what happened and reinforced that the railway track is an operational area with restricted access. Pedestrian movement outside designated crossing areas (such as level crossings, footbridges and viaducts) is prohibited by law and considered high risk.
The concessionaire also informed that it carries out periodic awareness campaigns and educational lectures in the region.
