According to the caption that accompanies the video, the footage would show, from an unprecedented angle, the accident involving two helicopters in Rio de Janeiro this morning: "Two helicopters collided and crashed into a vehicle yard in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, killing at least 6 people."
But that's not true. Although the video is real — and not generated by artificial intelligence (AI) — it shows an accident that occurred in Malaysia in April 2024. The collision involved different aircraft models than those involved in today's accident and caused the death of ten people during a rehearsal for a Navy parade (read more details below)
Today's accident left six people dead, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Sunday morning (14). Among the victims are singer Oliver Tree and YouTuber Gaspi.
A security camera at a condominium in the region recorded the moment of the crash of just one of the helicopters.

⚠️ Why #IS IT FAKE?
To find the origin of the material, Fato ou Fake performed a reverse search for the image on Google Lens. This search allows you to check whether content had previously been published on the internet – and in what context.
The result showed that the accident occurred on April 23, 2024, in Malaysia. The accident happened near the Lumut naval base, in the west of the Asian country. The images show several helicopters crossing the sky, when two aircraft collide. Ten people died as a result of the collision (see the gif of the accident below).

Reproduction
Unlike the collision in Malaysia in 2024, which involved an AW139 aircraft, today's accident in Rio de Janeiro involved a Bell 206B and a Eurocopter AS350, known as Esquilo.
