The production of the series is led by journalists Guilherme Strozi, Raquel Júnia and César Faccioli, who also carry out extensive research work in institutional collections, such as those of the EBC, the Public Archive of Brasília, the National Archive and the Museum of Image and Sound of Rio de Janeiro.
The editing and sound were designed by Jailton Sodré. The research into the EBC collection included the work of Aline Brettas, Indiara Goes and Thiago Guimarães.
The series was designed by Thiago Regotto, with production coordination by Cynthia Cruz. The project aimed to build a sound timeline that runs through the history of Brazil from the 1930s to the present day.
According to the general director of EBC, Thiago Regotto, this is the first time that Rádio Nacional has carried out a production dedicated to revisiting and organizing its trajectory.
"Many people have already told the story of Rádio Nacional over these 90 years, but the broadcaster itself hasn't yet. We are doing this exercise of looking at the past to reconstruct a more integrated timeline, without the hiatuses caused by periods of erasure, as in the dictatorship, or by more recent ruptures, as happened in the last government."
According to him, the program tells the story of a broadcaster that was born at the beginning of the last century. "[A Nacional] helps to form the country's cultural identity, makes Brazil speak Portuguese, support football, talk about soap operas and integrates the national territory through the short waves of the Amazon. It is the story that makes the Radio today the largest public broadcaster in Latin America and one of the most important in the history of radio in Brazil.”
