The main reason why the women interviewed continue to experience cycles of violence is financial dependence. "To the extent that women are unable to envisage alternatives to guarantee their own subsistence or that of their children, such as food, payment of rent and monthly expenses, nor do they realize the existence of a support network capable of supporting them in these moments, they may tend to remain in violent relationships as a survival strategy", highlight the researchers.
