Pavulagem Trawler in Belém Filipe Bispo / Arraial do Pavulagem Institute The Arraial do Pavulagem Institute is holding this Sunday (14) the first Arrastão do Pavulagem 2026, in Belém. The event marks the beginning of a series of four cultural processions that are expected to bring together thousands of people in the center of the capital of Pará. Arrastão transforms the city's streets into a great gathering of music, dance, popular culture and collective participation. According to the organization, more than 1,200 players from Batalhão da Estrela participate in the procession, with an estimated audience of around 35 thousand people. "It took around 40 days of workshops, rehearsals and preparation to get to this moment. Batalhão da Estrela dedicated a lot and is now ready to occupy the streets of Belém with all the energy that makes Arrastões do Pavulagem a great celebration of popular culture", says Júnior Soares, musician and co-founder of Arraial do Pavulagem. ✅ Click and follow the g1 PA channel on WhatsApp The Pavulagem 2026 Trawls take place on the following days: June 14 June 21 June 28 July 5th Appearance of the Pavulagem Ox One of the most anticipated moments of the first Arrastão occurs shortly before the departure of the procession, when Boi Pavulagem makes his first public appearance of the year on the balcony of Theatro da Paz. Exclusive to this first day, the moment also marks the presentation of the ox's new outfit, renewed annually by artisans from Boi Malhadinho, historical partners of the Institute. Arrial do Pavulagem Thais Costa and Geovane Brito/Montage g1 2026 Theme The Pavulagem 2026 Trawlers have the theme “Guarnição Flag”. The proposal presents two dimensions: one linked to the strength that guides and protects in the face of adversity; and another related to the Institute's actions, which promote play based on coexistence, sharing of knowledge and collective care. Arraial do Pavulagem is recognized as Cultural Heritage of Belém, the State of Pará and, more recently, as a Manifestation of National Culture.
