Man dies in accident with police vehicle in Sacomã, South Zone of SP A 59-year-old man died after being run over by a Military Police vehicle during a pursuit of a motorcycle on Friday night (12), in the Jardim São Savério neighborhood, in Sacomã, south zone of São Paulo. According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), military police officers were monitoring a motorcycle involved in a robbery when the vehicle's front tire burst, causing the loss of steering control, around 11pm. Also according to the SSP, two vehicles were hit during the accident. One of the cars, which was parked, was thrown into two pedestrians. One of them, a 59-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries and died. The other victim remained under medical care. The two military police officers who were in the vehicle were also injured. They were taken to Hospital das Clínicas, where they remain hospitalized. According to the Military Police, there is no risk of death. The police authority requested expert examinations from the Criminalistics Institute (IC) and the Legal Medical Institute (IML). The case was registered in the 26th Police District (Sacomã) as culpable bodily injury while driving a vehicle, theft inside a vehicle and culpable homicide while driving a vehicle.
