Serious accident with PMRv vehicle leaves one person dead and another injured The military highway police officer, who died in a serious accident on the Brigadeiro Faria Lima Highway (SP-326), in Matão, on Friday afternoon (12), was identified as Private PM Rodolfo Rodrigo Novato, aged 25. Another agent who was in the Military Highway Police (PMRv) vehicle was slightly injured. Both were rescued and taken to Fernando Malzoni Hospital. The vehicle then crossed the median, overturned and came to rest on the shoulder and drainage channel. As reported by g1, the accident occurred at km 293, towards Jaboticabal, at around 3:27 pm. Ecovias Noroeste Paulista, the concessionaire that manages the stretch, said that there was no closure of the road, and that forensics were called to the scene of the accident. The Military Police, Fire Department, Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and a Rescue Unit (UR) from the dealership were called to respond to the incident. SSP-SP and PM mourn the death In a statement, the Public Security Secretariat of the State of São Paulo (SSP-SP) lamented the death of a military highway police officer after the traffic accident. According to the ministry, two highway police officers occupied an operational vehicle and were on their way to Americana to participate in a professional specialization activity related to Highway Policing, when the driver lost control of the steering wheel. The vehicle crossed the median of the highway and overturned. The police officers were rescued and taken to medical care, however, one of the officers did not resist and died. The second victim suffered minor injuries. The PM is investigating all the circumstances of the accident. Through a note, the PM confirmed the information about the accident and expressed support and solidarity with family members and fellow soldiers, and clarified that all the circumstances surrounding the incident will be investigated.
