Vini Jr.'s project transforms learning for public school students in RJ The Vini Jr. Institute, created by the Brazilian national team striker, is changing the routine of students at Escola Municipal Visconde de Sepetiba, in São Gonçalo. In an adapted room within the unit, children learn Portuguese and Mathematics in a playful way, using technology, games and activities inspired by football. In space, disciplines take on a different approach: technology, movement and, of course, football come into play. Through cell phone applications, students participate in playful activities, such as separating syllables, completing sentences and solving mathematical operations while playing. A data platform monitors each student's performance and engagement in real time, helping teachers to better direct teaching. 📱Download the g1 app to see news from Rio in real time and for free "We use the skills of the National Common Curricular Base with digital technology and body movement to develop education in a fun way. And there is nothing better than football to bring everyone together", explains the institutional director of Instituto Vini Jr., Karol Vasconcelos. In practice, the result appears within the classroom. Teachers report more student interest and participation. Data platform tracks each student’s performance and engagement Reproduction/TV Globo "Here they are learning addition and subtraction in a simple way, really playing. It's a light way to understand content that was previously more difficult", says educator Talita dos Santos. For children, the impact is direct. Student Gabriel, aged 9, sums up the experience: “I play with my friends, and the games are really cool”. Rebeca, aged 10, celebrates an important achievement: before having difficulty reading, today she has become a fan of books — especially Vini Jr's own stories. "I didn't know how to read. Now I have 3 of his books at home", she says. Unlike other projects, the Vini Jr. Institute does not have a fixed headquarters. The proposal is precisely to take the activities to public schools in different regions of the country, expanding the reach of the initiative. So far, more than 10 thousand students and 600 teachers have been served in 5 Brazilian states. While learning in a new way, the kids also continue to follow their idol on the field. Among the fans, the desire is ambitious: to see Brazil win with many goals — preferably, with the signature of those who inspired the entire change. 🟩g1 Rio is on GloboPop, Globo's new vertical short video app, available for free on your cell phone.
