Earlier this week, the EU, Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius and Seychelles finalized discussions with a view to signing an enhanced economic partnership agreement (EPA). The first of its kind on the continent. The EU is already the largest trading partner of these southern African states. It therefore seeks to provide a clear framework for its commercial exchanges but also to secure its partnerships while world trade is in full restructuring.
