After the completion of the 158th Passing Out Parade (POP) at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, the piping ceremony has now started. In this ceremony, family members and military officers are formally congratulating the newly appointed officers for becoming commissioned officers in the Indian Army by placing stars on their shoulders. A total of 515 officer cadets completed their training and joined the Indian Army as commissioned officers in the parade. These include 481 Indian and 34 foreign cadets. President Draupadi Murmu was present as the chief guest at the function. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Gurmeet Singh were also present with him. The President, in his capacity as Reviewing Officer, inspected the parade, took the salute and presented the Sword of Honor and other medals to the cadets who performed exceptionally well. The cadets then crossed the historic 'last step' located in front of Chetwood Building. As soon as he crossed this line, his cadet life ended and he became a commissioned officer of the Indian Army.
