Viviana Cordero has turned a reflection on old age, freedom and late beginnings into a novel. In “Three Dance Steps,” the Ecuadorian author tells the story of Jacinta, a woman who, after being widowed at the age of 72, does not immerse herself in mourning but rather experiences an unexpected sensation of liberation and undertakes a process of reviewing her life. Recently presented at the Latin American and Caribbean Week in Paris. We spoke with the author in Escala en Paris about the origin of this story, the acceptance of readers and the process of building the character.
