Eleven years after the major migration crisis linked to the massive arrival of Syrian refugees in Europe, the “asylum and migration pact” proposed at the time and negotiated for eight years, comes into force this Friday, June 12. After years of tensions between EU countries, Europeans have imposed a severe security tightening on the entry of migrants in return for solidarity between States to share their reception.
