The Public Ministry of the State of Piauí (MP-PI) recommended the adoption of measures to rebuild the workforce at the Areolino de Abreu Hospital, in the North Zone of Teresina, after inspections by the Regional Medicine Council (CRM-PI) and the Regional Nursing Council (Coren-PI) revealed an insufficient number of doctors and nurses. The document, signed by Public Prosecutor Débora Geane, head of the 12th Public Prosecutor's Office, on Tuesday (9), recommended that the Health Secretary adopt the necessary administrative measures for the hiring and immediate placement of 87 professionals at the hospital. The state Secretary of Health must present to the MP, within 15 days, a detailed schedule for complying with the recommendation. Any non-compliance with the measures may constitute awareness of the irregularities and enable future liability through public civil action.
