Three-month-old baby is freed by the police after being taken hostage by his father Elias dos Santos Andrade da Silva, 29, was arrested in the act after attacking his ex-partner, 24, and keeping their 3-month-old son in private prison in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo. As found by g1 this Thursday (11), he confessed to having attacked the woman after an argument. The case took place in the Morrinhos III neighborhood. According to the Military Police, the man also threatened the baby with a knife and a piece of glass. According to her, upon arriving at the residence, they argued and Elias attacked her with punches and kicks. According to police records, the victim managed to escape from the house during a moment of distraction from the attacker and asked for help from people passing by. At that moment, Elias picked up the baby and armed himself with a knife. In a statement to the Civil Police, the suspect admitted to the attacks. According to the police report, Elias declared that he kicked his ex-partner and added that he "started hitting her", after the two had discussed their relationship and their son's health. The police report indicates that, during the negotiation, the man demonstrated a lack of emotional control. After about an hour and a half of negotiation, the suspect surrendered and handed the baby over to the police. During the incident, two knives and a piece of glass were seized. The victim requested urgent protective measures. The case was registered as kidnapping and false imprisonment, domestic violence and bodily harm committed against the woman at the Women's Defense Police Station (DDM) in Guarujá.
