According to the Military Police, Victor Junio ​​Daro, 24 years old, was riding a motorcycle in the same direction as the car. The driver of the car and a passenger only suffered minor injuries. In a statement, the Civil Police reported that it sent official expertise to identify and collect traces that will support the investigation. The victim's body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) in Belo Horizonte to undergo autopsy examinations. Also according to the institution, the 36-year-old driver of the car was not taken to the police station on duty, because he helped the motorcyclist. "Article 301 of Law 9,503/97 (CTB) states: 'the driver of a vehicle, in cases of traffic accidents in which he is a victim, will not be required to be arrested in the act, nor will bail be required, if he provides prompt and full assistance to the victim'. Businesswoman Clara, who has a carpentry shop on the avenue, was opening the store when she heard the sound of the crash. She said the motorcyclist died instantly. "It's not the first accident that has happened here on the street. Unfortunately, one died today, but there are people who make the wrong turn," said the woman.
