The Military Environmental Police (PMMA) discovered a warehouse used by a gang specializing in theft and diversion of cargo in the region of Monte Alegre de Minas. According to the corporation, the materials seized in two containers are valued at more than R$1 million.
According to Sergeant Eduardo Venâncio, military personnel from Ituiutaba gathered information during patrols in the rural area and identified the location after crossing data obtained from rural producers and owners of establishments in the region.

Among the products found were fertilizers, fuels, beauty products, tires, showers, among other goods.
"We were on effective patrol in the Monte Alegre region, talking to the residents and we were putting together the pieces to dismantle a warehouse belonging to a gang specializing in theft and diversion of cargo on BR-153," said the sergeant.
According to the PM, the investigation showed that the criminals acted mainly in cases of accidents involving trucks and also in vehicles parked at gas stations.

According to the military, the gang took advantage of moments of vulnerability to remove goods from cargo.
"The way they acted was to steal loads from crashed vehicles and also from trucks parked at gas stations," he explained.
The police reported that they have already identified police reports related to the seized products and are working together with the Federal Highway Police (PRF) to deepen the investigations.
The action is part of the reinforcement of rural policing in municipalities such as Monte Alegre de Minas, Centralina and Canápolis.
All seized material will be sent to the Civil Police, who will be responsible for investigating and identifying the owners of the recovered cargo. Reports can be made anonymously by calling 181.
