The police officer who died on the same course was identified as Corporal Anderson Weverton de Lima Nunes, aged 35. He was also hospitalized on Tuesday (9), one day after the start of training activities, and was admitted to the Municipal Hospital of Caucaia. He was intubated, however, he did not resist and died in the health unit.
The State Security Academy, responsible for the course, lamented the police officer's death and said that the agent fell ill during the instruction provided for in the training matrix.
"Corporal Nunes was promptly attended to by the rescue teams present at the scene and taken to a hospital unit, but, unfortunately, he did not survive. In light of what happened, a preliminary investigation was immediately ordered to investigate the fact in all its circumstances", said Aesp.
This is the second agent to die on a Ceará security forces course in two months. In April this year, soldier Evandro Jordson de Sousa Marques, aged 28, died after falling ill in another training session.
Training in high-risk operations
The training that Anderson Weverton and another police officer participated in is called X Rural Tactical Operations Course (Cotar) and began on Monday (8). The training included the participation of 75 military police officers - 73 from Ceará and 2 from Piauí.
The training, with a workload of 444 class hours, includes subjects such as survival in the caatinga area, rural patrol, combat in a confined environment, operations planning, tracking and counter-tracking, as well as notions of hunter employment.
As disclosed by Aesp, the training aims to train operators capable of working in the Rural Tactical Command, one of the companies of the Specialized Interior Policing Battalion (Bepi).
Furthermore, the training proposes to qualify police officers for high-risk operations throughout the interior of the state, especially when confronting armed criminal groups based in rural, mountainous and forested areas.
