After attacks on her daughter online, the mother of a lawyer who saved her family in a fire vents The mother of lawyer Juliane Vieira released a video on social media to defend her daughter, who received attacks and insults after reporting her own experience during the fire that left 63% of her body burned, in Cascavel, in western Paraná. "My daughter received messages saying: 'You are ungrateful', 'You should have died', 'Why didn't you die?'. I hope you never go through a situation like this. Maybe you won't have the same courage as she had," he said. In Juliane's report, she stated that she would rather have died than be burned alive. The lawyer also said she intends to sue the State and maintains that the burns occurred during the rescue. The statements divided opinions on social media. In the apartment were her mother, Sueli, 51 years old, and her cousin, Pietro, 4 years old. After managing to help the two, Juliane was rescued by the Fire Department. Her mother had burns to her face and legs and suffered smoke inhalation. In addition, his airways were burned. Sueli was hospitalized for 11 days at Hospital São Lucas, in Cascavel. Pietro was transferred to Curitiba, due to smoke inhalation and burns to his legs and hands. He was hospitalized for 16 days and was discharged at the end of October. A firefighter who helped with the rescue suffered burns to his arms, hands and part of his back, he was hospitalized and released days later. Another had burns on his hands and underwent medical treatment. Juliane was hospitalized for three months. Currently, according to her family, she is undergoing physical therapy to recover.
