On Wednesday June 10, Saudi Arabia launched Riyadh Air, its new national airline. The first flight took off overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, heading to London Heathrow. The oil monarchy hopes to make its capital a new global air transport hub, capable of competing with Gulf giants like Emirates or Qatar Airways.
