The number represents around 16% of all formal jobs in the state. In 2025, the state registered 16,891 active industrial establishments, compared to 10,781 in 2016, an expansion of 53.8%. Compared to the previous year, when there were 16,588 units, growth was 8.9%. The presence of the industry spreads across several regions of Mato Grosso, boosting sectors such as food, civil construction, biofuels, wood, mining, slaughterhouses and industrial services. Small businesses dominate the sector The survey shows that micro-enterprises are the majority in the Mato Grosso industrial park. They represent 82.11% of establishments, equivalent to around 13.8 thousand industries. Small businesses account for 14.59% of the total, with approximately 2,400 units. Medium-sized companies total 288 establishments, or 1.71% of the sector, while large industries represent 1.59%, with 268 units. The numbers highlight the role of small businesses in maintaining industrial activity and generating jobs in different municipalities in the state. Participation in GDP and revenue The relevance of the industry also appears in economic indicators. Mato Grosso's industrial Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached R$36.8 billion, a value equivalent to 15% of all wealth produced in the state. Another highlight is the contribution to public coffers. In 2025, the industrial sector was responsible for R$12.75 billion in ICMS collection, an amount that corresponds to 49.53% of all tax collected in Mato Grosso.
