Accompanied by the Paraíba Symphony Orchestra, Petrúcio Amorim highlighted the emotion of taking his songs to a different format than he usually presents to the public. The singer and composer stated that he sees the meeting between forró and concert music as a new challenge in his career.
"I have already sung with the Pernambuco Chamber Orchestra in a theater, a closed place where people pay more attention, but singing in an open field for the people is very interesting and will be a great challenge. For me it will be a great happiness to be in Campina Grande singing with the Paraíba Orchestra. This is priceless. It is another challenge in my career, but I will participate with great affection and love", he said.
Singer Gitana Pimentel stated that the invitation to participate in the presentation represents the fulfillment of an old wish. According to her, following the Paraíba Symphony Orchestra over the years made the opportunity even more special.
"I always followed the orchestra's performances with guest artists and I kept imagining myself in that place. When I received the invitation, I was extremely happy and fulfilled. And especially when it comes to a tribute to a composer that I'm a big fan of, I sing countless songs from his repertoire", he said.
The orchestra will start the concert with the song “Rapsódia Gonzaguiana”, by Sivuca. Next, the artists must perform June hits by Petrúcio Amorim, starting with “Cidade Grande”, “Nem Olhou Pra Mim”, “Deus do Barro”, “Filho do Dono” and “Meu Cenário”. Afterwards, the orchestra will continue with the songs “Dois Rubis”, “Paraíba Jóia Rara”, “Parte da Minha Vida” and “Tareco e Mariola”. Closing the concert, the team will play the song “Anjo Querubim, Confidências e Devagar”.
