A Koranic master, from one of the most prestigious maraboutic lineages in the country, was sentenced Monday June 8 to 20 years in prison for rape and child criminal acts inflicted on 28 of his students, in a Koranic school in the town of Touba, 200 kilometers from Dakar. A historic decision in a country where rape was only criminalized in 2020.
