Viviane Vieira de Oliveira began to feel ill on Saturday (6), when she was admitted to the PA for the first time. In an interview with TV TEM, Aline Vieira de Oliveira said that the pain radiated to her sister's back, who even lost the movement of her legs.
"She was treated as if she just had muscle pain. They did an electrocardiogram and then released her. Everything pointed to her needing to be sent to another unit in São José do Rio Preto (SP), but they didn't do anything", reported Viviane's sister.

On Monday morning, Viviane returned to the Emergency Room with the same symptoms. According to her sister's report, she was treated and released to return home. Hours later, in the afternoon, the patient's clinical condition worsened.
"The ambulance didn't respond, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) didn't respond. We decided to take her on our own and met the ambulance halfway," said Aline about the moment her sister fainted.
Viviane did not resist and died inside the ambulance, on the way to the hospital. Family members say she was suffering from high blood pressure and had no history of heart problems.
The family registered a police report, and the Civil Police must investigate the case on suspicion of culpable homicide (when there is no intention to kill) due to negligence.
What the Emergency Department says
In an interview with the report, the Emergency Care nurse, Érica Magnani, stated that all care protocols were carried out correctly and that, in the initial examinations, the team ruled out the possibility of a serious case.
When asked why Viviane was not transferred to a high-complexity hospital in São José do Rio Preto, the nurse explained that the transfer depends exclusively on medical evaluation.
"She [Viviane] underwent treatment with the unit's cardiologist, who also ruled out any acute symptoms. The doctor did not ask for the patient to be referred," he alleged.
The nurse also reported that, when Viviane was admitted on Monday afternoon already in critical condition, the team tried to revive her. "We tried. We performed the entire cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) protocol on the patient, but, unfortunately, she did not survive", concluded Érica.
Two deaths on the same day
An 88-year-old man also died on Monday after being admitted to the Nova Granada Emergency Room. As reported by TV TEM, he had suffered a fall from his own height, underwent treatment, was discharged and died hours later.
What is the city hall’s position?
In a note, Nova Granada City Hall reported that, in both cases, all care provided was duly recorded in medical records and followed the care protocols adopted by the team on duty.
