The Chamber's CCJ resumed this Tuesday (9) the discussion on the PEC that reduces the age of criminal responsibility from 18 to 16 years old. Read more here.. The analysis began last week, but was suspended after a request for a collective review. During the session, left-wing parliamentarians criticized the proposal. The text, authored by the then deputy Gonzaga Patriota (PSB-PE) and presented in 2015, amends the Federal Constitution to establish criminal imputation from the age of 16. The PEC needs a simple majority in the commission. If approved, it will still need to go through a special committee before reaching the plenary.
