Escape from false captivity
Woman pretends to be teenager exploited by prostitution house to carry out scams
On August 14, 2022, Amanda approached municipal guards on Avenida São João, in the Ponte São João neighborhood. She said she had escaped from a prostitution house in Fortaleza (CE), where she was kept in private prison by people who presented themselves as her parents. According to the police report, she reported that since the age of six she was forced to have sexual relations with clients and that she received hormone injections to endure the abuse.
Amanda said that she had arrived in Jundiaí on board a truck, taken by a driver who had been her client for two years and who, remorseful, offered to help her escape. She also said that she had been found with the clothes on her back, was very hungry and had injuries, including cigarette burn marks and recent scars.
The guards took her to the Jundiaí University Hospital, where she received first aid. After discharge, she was welcomed into a transitional home for children and adolescents in the municipality.
Discovery of the hoax
After days spent at the institution, Amanda's true identity was revealed by the Civil Police. Delegate Aline Nery Bonchristiani, from the Jundiaí Women's Defense Police Station (DDM), concluded after investigations that the woman was not 12 years old, but rather 34 at the time.
The lawsuit points out that searches of security databases did not locate records corresponding to the information she provided. The criminal record indicates that Amanda was born on June 10, 1988.
