The scene was recorded by witnesses and shows the suspect sitting in a chair on the sidewalk, tied by a rope. The person responsible informed the police that the man consumed two pastries, worth R$8 each, and left the place without paying the bill. During the search, the military located the suspect near the central square. At the scene, they discovered that he had also passed by another salt shop, where he consumed two more pastries, valued at R$4 each, and again tried to leave without paying. The man was taken to the Civil Police Station. According to the police record, it was necessary to use handcuffs while driving because he exhibited aggressive behavior. Delegate Gláucia Fernanda Valério informed that the incident was registered as fraud, in the "other fraud" category, related to the consumption of food without payment, provided for in article 176 of the Penal Code.
