The Unit at the Samuel Libânio Hospital Complex (CHSL) in Borda da Mata is increasingly advancing in the care of the population's health and, this week, it is carrying out cataract and pterygium efforts for patients from across the region. "In these ophthalmology efforts, more than 1,300 people are served, reaching more than 23 municipalities. This action is only possible thanks to the commitment and effort of the Federal Deputy, Rafael Simões, who brought parliamentary amendments that make this service possible for the entire region, giving dignity and autonomy to the entire population", says the administrative superintendent of the CHSL unit and director of Lar Irmã Maria Augusta (LIMA), in Borda da Mata, Ederson Carlos Deveque. For the doctor responsible for the surgeries, Hernani Dias de Souza, the joint effort is a huge social action. "We have been carrying out a group of surgeries throughout this week, both for cataracts and pterygium, here in Borda da Mata. This Tuesday alone, June 9th, we performed around 140 cataract and 100 pterygium surgeries, in addition to around 60 patients undergoing lens cleaning, which is a capsulotomy, a laser ophthalmological procedure performed to clean the intraocular lens in patients who have developed blurred vision months or years after cataract surgery. Therefore, we developed great actions in public health, helping these patients who have been waiting for a long time to improve their vision and improve their quality of life. Congratulations to everyone”, states Dr. Hernani Souza. According to the technical director of CHSL, Saulo Lamas, the population of the region and the entire state of Minas Gerais already knows and recognizes the quality and excellence of the service offered by the Samuel Libânio Hospital Complex. "Now, the Borda da Mata unit brings enormous benefits to the local population and surrounding cities. The unit brings greater quality, structure and access to hospital services for the entire population", he concludes. CHSL unit in Borda da Mata serves 1,300 people in joint efforts
