According to the project coordinator, Matheus Aquino, Consciência Limpa has been running for more than 20 years and focuses on environmental education, taking different themes to the entire Amazon.
“Like the issue of incorrect waste disposal, the issue of fires too, including the planting of seedlings, which is what we are doing here in Acre today”, he highlighted.
Furthermore, the coordinator highlights that the initiative is important to convey to the population the idea of taking care of the environment.
"It's an ant work that we call it. We are in the second edition of Consciência Limpa here in Acre and our idea is that this environmental education will be developed and happen for all generations, not only for children, but also for adults and older people", he detailed.

The proposal seeks to increase green areas in the region. The initiative also wants to improve the city's appearance and encourage the population's participation in sustainable practices.
The Secretary of the Environment of Acre, Leonardo Carvalho, highlighted that actions like this have a direct impact on education and bring an improvement to the lives of the population of Acre.
"It's important because we need to improve our urban afforestation. This improves the quality of life, reduces the temperature. So, there are many important benefits that this action is bringing. And in Environment Month, every action matters", he detailed.

Incentive
In addition to the positive effects on the environment, planting reinforces the importance of conscious use of public spaces. The activity also encourages society's participation in environmental preservation actions.
For student Ester Maria, aged 14, participating in an event like this is important to contribute to the preservation of the Amazon.

"Our Amazon always needs to be renewed by planting plants. I think these things are very important because our Amazon needs it. And it's very good," he stated.
In addition to participating in the action, Ester also decided to name the seedling she planted in reference to her fruit: açaí.
"Açaí is purple, right? I put purple because it's purple and açaí is purple. And I thought that name was very creative. It came into my head like that, I thought about putting it", he said.
Friends Marciane Andriele and Estefany Vitoria, both 14 years old, decided to pay homage to each other by putting their names on the seedlings they planted. "It's in honor of her because I really like her. Just as the plant grows, bears fruit, I want it to happen to her [Estefany], to grow and be successful in life", commented Marciane about the tribute to her friend.
For Estefany, the tribute symbolizes the time of friendship between the two. "I wanted to put her name because we've been friends for a long time and soon maybe we'll split up, because we're going to change schools and we don't know if we're going to the same school. So, it will be a tribute," she shared.
