The world's banks have further increased their investments in the fossil fuel sector in 2025. This is the conclusion of the report "banking on climate chaos", published by a group of NGOs. The document, on the other hand, delivers satisfaction to French banks which, going against the international trend, have reduced their investments in the sector. According to the IEA, to succeed in the energy transition, financing of fossil fuels should be reduced by 60% per year by 2030.
