PM dismantles drug laboratory and arrests couple for trafficking in Ipatinga

A 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were arrested during a Military Police operation that dismantled a drug trafficking scheme in Ipatinga, on Monday night (8).
According to the PM, the action began after a complaint received by the Unified Hotline (181), reporting that a property in the Canaãzinho neighborhood was being used to store drugs and support the distribution of narcotics in the city.

After surveys and monitoring, the military identified the vehicle that would be used by the suspects to deliver drugs. The car was located and approached while traveling along Avenida Galileia.
During the approach, the police found a quantity of marijuana of the type known as Colombia Gold and cash. According to the PM, the driver admitted to having consumed marijuana before the stop and reported that there were more drugs at his residence.

The teams went to the property linked to those being investigated, where they found portions of marijuana and more money. Continuing the investigations, the military went to another address related to the group, in the Caçula neighborhood.
At the scene, police officers located a large quantity of drugs stored in portions of different sizes, as well as materials used for pressing, packaging, weighing and dividing the drugs. According to the PM, the property operated as a drug laboratory.
Also according to the corporation, the property is next to a municipal school. During the searches, labels similar to those used on packages seized from the couple's residence were also found, which reinforced the link between the addresses investigated.
In total, bars, packages and portions of Colombia Gold type marijuana, cocaine, hashish and crack were seized, as well as ammunition, money, precision scales, sealing machines, cell phones and a vehicle.
The suspects were arrested red-handed and taken to the Civil Police Station along with the seized materials.
