Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), authorized General Paulo Sérgio Nogueira, convicted in the coup plot case, to register and take the tests for the National High School Exam (Enem) 2026. 🔎Enem registrations have been extended until next Friday (12), and must be completed through the Participant's Page. Nogueira was Minister of Defense and commanded the Army during the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government. He has been imprisoned at the Planalto Military Command, in Brasília, since November last year, after being sentenced by the Federal Supreme Court (STF) to 19 years in prison. The general was condemned for being part of the "crucial nucleus" of a coup plot to keep Bolsonaro in power, despite his defeat at the polls in 2022. In the decision, Moraes informs that "the governing legislation aims to encourage the prisoner to study", therefore, it makes sense that the defense's request be accepted. "I AUTHORIZE that the sentenced PAULO SÉRGIO NOGUEIRA DE OLIVEIRA may register for the National High School Examination (ENEM 2026)".
