The incident took place around Praça Verde. According to the Military Police, the team was patrolling the region when they noticed two men acting suspiciously. When they noticed the vehicle approaching, they ran towards the square and began to escape. Still according to the PM, the agents carried out a siege and searched the surrounding area, but the pair were not reached. On the route used by the suspects, police officers found a large amount of illicit material left behind. The packaging contained inscriptions mentioning a criminal faction active in the region. At the scene, the team also collected 21 intact .40 mm caliber ammunition.
