According to investigations, the criminal was responsible for coordinating and managing cargo theft in Baixada Fluminense, being identified as the perpetrator of several crimes that occurred on highways in the region, mainly Rio-Petrópolis. In the action, two more drug traffickers were arrested.

The purpose of the action was to arrest members of the criminal faction Comando Vermelho and disrupt the core of the region. The place is used as a logistical base and strategic point for coordinating crimes such as drug trafficking, vehicle theft, reception and hiding of criminals.
The agents identified the leadership of the faction responsible for logistics at the location. Waguinho coordinated vehicle thefts, supplying weapons to criminals and organizing the shipment of stolen cars to communities dominated by the group, especially to Complexo da Penha, in the north of Rio, the main stronghold of the CV leadership in Rio.
Investigations demonstrated that several vehicle and cargo thieves acted under the criminal's orders, demonstrating his leadership position within the organization. Waguinho was also involved in drug trafficking in the region and had a connection with Edgar Alves de Andrade, known as “Doca”.
Through monitoring, the police located the residence used by Waguinho. During the approach, a preventive arrest warrant was served. He already had criminal records for cargo theft, reception and drug trafficking.
Still in the region, two more drug traffickers were arrested. One of the men was responsible for carrying out support and sustaining activities. He had already been arrested in 2019 and had criminal records for drug trafficking and association with drug trafficking.
The action is part of Operation Containment, an offensive to contain the faction's territorial advance. The main objective is to dismantle the group's financial, logistical and operational structure.
So far, more than 345 men have been arrested and another 137 criminals neutralized in the confrontation. 477 weapons were seized, including 190 rifles, and more than 51 thousand ammunition.
