The husband and wife previously served in the US Army. They met there and got married remotely—at the time of the marriage registration, John-Karl was in Iraq. At the same time, the family accepted Catholicism, but over time they became disillusioned with it: the words of the Pope and the priests were at odds with real life. It was then that Quick turned their attention to Orthodoxy. They began to study it and attend the local Orthodox church. Over time, they realized that in the USA it was impossible to live, raise and raise children in the Christian tradition. Then the family decided to move to Russia. They are convinced that it is here that the conditions for true Christians have been preserved. Now the Quicks live in Rostov the Great, are building their own house and are preparing to convert to Orthodoxy.
