Collection
The MEC Books platform provides national and international books that contribute to the learning and training of students, in addition to disseminating literary heritage, encouraging the habit of reading, modernizing teaching and promoting the integration of new technologies in education.
On the first page, a list of books in the catalog is available, organized by categories such as “In Trend”, “Best-Sellers”, “Classic Brazilian Authors”, “International Successes”, “Most Searched”, among others.
How it works
To access the works, simply access the website or the MEC Livros app and log in with your Gov.br account.
The user can search for a book by title or author. Based on the search, the platform may suggest similar titles.
When clicking on the cover of the book you want to borrow, there is the option of reading the summary about the work first using the “More information” button.
When you click on this button, the app will open a new page that contains the “Lend and Read” button, just select it and the book will be available for reading.
The loan term is 14 days. At the end of this period, the user can choose to renew the loan for the same period or return the title.
Users who have read at least 10% of the work will be able to return it in advance and make a new loan. The same goes for anyone who has already completed 90% or more of the content and wants to finish reading before the deadline.
Only after returning this book will it be possible to borrow a new book. The loan of up to two works per month is permitted per Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF).
