The rules and deadlines were defined in the notice published by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep).
Who should participate
Enamed is mandatory for students completing qualified undergraduate medical courses and enrolled by the course coordinator and assessed in the National Student Performance Exam (Enade) 2026.
The participation of fourth-year medical students registered by the undergraduate course coordinator of the educational institutions will also be mandatory.
For all students in these two conditions registered by the course coordinators in Enade for medical courses, the registration will be confirmed in Enamed.
Furthermore, the exam can be carried out voluntarily by already graduated doctors interested in using the results in the selection processes for medical specialties with direct access to the National Residency Exam (Enare) 2026/2027.
All participants must complete the student questionnaire designed to collect information that allows characterizing the candidate's profile and the context of their training.
Evidence
The Enamed tests will be administered on the afternoon of September 13th, in all states and the Federal District by an institution contracted by Inep.
The test booklet will have 100 multiple choice questions, with four alternatives and a single correct answer.
The Enamed score, calculated based on the TRI proficiency scale, will be valid for three years, except for fourth-year undergraduate students.
Enare
Completing participants or graduates who wish to use the Enamed results to participate in Enare must follow the rules set out in the notice of the medical residency selection process, including registration criteria, fee payment and possible exemption requests.
The novelty of this edition is that anyone who has a valid Enamed 2025 result will be able to choose, at the time of registration, between using the grade already obtained to participate in Enare or taking the Enamed in 2026 to obtain a new grade.
The rules for registration, payment of the registration fee and/or exemption from the Enare 2026/2027 fee are set out in a specific notice, published by HU Brasil, the former Brazilian Hospital Services Company (Ebserh).
