The collision happened near km 460 of the highway. According to the Fire Department, a trailer carrying orders from e-commerce stores lost control of the steering wheel while heading towards Francisco Sá/Salinas. The 62-year-old driver was injured and received treatment at the scene by Samu teams, and was later taken to a hospital in Francisco Sá. The other trailer involved was transporting fruit. The 37-year-old driver was not injured. The driver of the truck transporting packages, a 47-year-old man, was trapped in the wreckage and was found without vital signs inside the vehicle. The death was confirmed at the scene. After initial care and assessment of the scene, the Fire Department personnel isolated the area to ensure safety and preserve the location for the Civil Police's technical expertise work. The fatal victim was then extricated, in addition to cleaning the road and supporting the removal of vehicles.
